Just over 11 years ago Praserth’s cousin invited him to visit and workout at the Wellness Center. After one visit he decided to become a member and he has been ever since!
He loves the openness and cleanliness of the Center as well as the friendliness of the staff. Each year since then, Praserth has had the same New Year’s resolution; to be in better physical shape and appearance than the year before. Like many, he would take the first couple of months of each year and concentrate on his fitness goals and then life would get busy and he would lose his focus and momentum.
At the end of December 2013, he decided that this new year was going to be different. So he planned to make changes to his routine in 2014 in order to stay focused. He used valuable tips he had learned from previous personal training sessions, and also searched for workouts online and printed a new strength training program every 12 weeks. With his 2014 focus on strength, he set a goal to lower his body fat. With all of the diet and exercise variables, he quickly learned that it is easier to lose weight than to lower your body fat.
He found that he enjoys googling recipes with low fat options. He has begun substituting sour cream with Greek yogurt and he is really trying to like brown rice! Throughout this year he developed a new found determination and is proud to report that his best fitness achievement to date is losing 2.8 % body fat since January! He is hoping to continue this momentum through the holidays and into the new year!
Praserth earned a Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Mennonite University with a double major in Business Administration and Computer Information Systems. He has been Co-Owner of the Beyond Restaurant since it opened in 2009. As the Co-owner of Beyond Restaurant in downtown Harrisonburg, Praserth has a hectic schedule, but this year he has managed to find time to work out 6 days a week!
“If a restaurant owner can devote the time to work out, anyone should be able to do it!” He added, “My job is such a blessing and our family business requires a lot of hard work. It is important for me to be healthy, so even if I can only workout for 20 minutes, it provides great stress relief.“
Congratulation Praserth on being our October Member of the Month!
