Two members of the RMH team have been elected local chapter presidents of Rotary International, the world’s largest service organization.

Joe Griffith

Joe Griffith, RPH, RMH Pharmacy, has been elected president of the Rotary Club of Bridgewater. Griffith has been with RMH six years. He became a member of Rotary five years ago after moving to Virginia.

His goals as president include boosting membership in the Bridgewater chapter as well as increasing membership in outreach programs for high school and college students, including Interact at Turner Ashby High School, and Rotaract at Bridgewater College.

“Being a part of Rotary is based on my belief in service in others and giving back to community,” Griffith said. “Our chapter is active in contributing to the Rotary Foundation and international projects. We are hoping to meet some district goals, including doing our share to reach a $100 million matching grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in order to completely eradicate polio from world.”

Mark Zimmerman

Mark Zimmerman, vice president, RMH Human Resources Development and Support Services, has been elected president of the Rotary Club of Harrisonburg-Massanutten. Zimmerman has been with RMH for seven years. He became a member of Rotary in Stuart Sunrise, Fla., before moving to Virginia in 2001. He has been a club member for 10 years.

Zimmerman said as president he looks forward to continuing the tradition of SpringFest, a volleyball tournament held annually to raise funds for the Rockingham-Harrisonburg Free Clinic and for Friendship Industries, a non-profit organization that helps people with disabilities.

“Rotary’s mission is to do good in our community and throughout the world,” Zimmerman said. “It’s something I enjoy, and it’s exciting to be a part of that mission.”

Rotary chapter presidents took office July 1. Each serves a one-year term.
