Newtown Sandy Hook School Donation FundIn the wake of the devastating tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, Conn. Dec. 14, RMH is offering its staff and the community an opportunity to help support the Newtown community through the RMH Foundation.

RMH has decided to direct donations through the RMH Foundation to Newtown Youth & Family Services (NYFS). NYFS is a licensed, non-profit youth service bureau and mental health clinic dedicated to helping children and families achieve their highest potential. They provide programs, services, activities, counseling, support groups and education throughout the Greater Newtown area regardless of ability to pay. NYFS is a United Way agency.

“While there are a number of reputable charities, we felt NYFS was a nice fit for our healthcare team and an appropriate way to support Newtown community members as they try to move forward from this horrific tragedy,” said Kay Harrison, vice president, Business Development at RMH.

NYFS Executive Director Candace Bohr announced Dec. 14 that the agency will provide “emergency counseling for families, community members or staff involved in the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy.” Bohr says donations will go directly to people affected by the shootings.

To donate through RMH, send donations to the RMH Foundation and note the donation is for the Sandy Hook Fund. Use the donation link on our website SupportRMH.org or send donations to RMH Foundation, 2010 Health Campus Drive, Harrisonburg, VA, 22801. For more information or questions, call the Foundation office at 564-7222.
