The RMH Market Development and Corporate Communications departments have won eight awards in the annual Measure of Excellence competition sponsored by the Virginia Society for Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations.
VSHMPR sponsors the annual MOE awards competition to recognize and celebrate excellence in healthcare marketing, communications and public relations. Judging is conducted by a peer society from another state. For 2010, the judges were from the Carolinas Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing.
Each entry is judged on its own merit and is evaluated on the basis of 1) response to a problem or need, 2) effectiveness of reaching the target audience, 3) quality and appropriateness of materials, 4) effectiveness in achieving its goal(s), and 5) overall impression of the project.
RMH received three first place, three second place and two third place awards, as follows:
First Place
- Bariatric Marketing Campaign
- "Destination Health” new hospital and health campus newsletter
- RMH Foundation Web site
Second Place
- Heart and Vascular Center Web site
- "An AED Saved My Life”—HealthQuest article by Holly Martin
- “RMH Update” employee newsletter
Third Place
- “HealthQuest” magazine
- “Practicing Music and Medicine”—Medical Staff Times article by Holly Martin
