Did you know. . .
  • Areas in the southeastern U.S. are continuing to report regional or local flu activity, including on college campuses. Georgia has seen an increase in hospitalizations since mid-February. Seasonal flu has not been detected; the activity is all the result of H1N1.
  • In Virginia, flu activity has moved from sporadic to local. A confirmed H1N1-associated death occurred in late March.
  • Internationally, 2009 H1N1 flu is still circulating, including in the southern hemisphere, which is about to enter its flu season.

Don’t be caught without protection! RMH will offer free H1N1 and seasonal flu vaccinations just off of the East Tower (Cantrell Avenue) lobby, beside the Gift Shop, at the following times:

Tuesdays, April 13 and 27 10 a.m.-1p.m.
Wednesday: April 14 Noon-2 p.m.
Thursdays: April 15 and 29 10 a.m.-1p.m.

The free vaccinations are available to anyone age six months and up. H1N1 vaccination is especially recommended for the following groups:
  • Infants who were too young to vaccinate when vaccine was first available and who now are at least 6 months of age
  • Newly pregnant women
  • Children age 9 and under who have only received one dose of vaccine
  • Racial and ethnic minorities and other hard-to-reach, but vulnerable, populations
  • Adults with diseases and conditions that put them at high risk for complications
  • Children with diseases and conditions that put them at high risk for complications
Pre-registration is not required. If you have questions, call HealthSource at 433-4580.
