Part D offers special rates for low-income Americans
If you meet certain income and resource limits, you may qualify for Extra Help from Medicare to pay the costs of Medicare prescription drug coverage. You may qualify if you have up to $16,245 in yearly income ($21,855 for a married couple) and up to $12,510 in resources ($25,010 for a married couple).
Drug costs in 2011 for most people who quality will be no more than $2.50 for each generic and$6.30 for each brand-name drug included in the plan. Other people pay only a portion of their Medicare drug plan premiums and deductibles, based on their income level.
