These medications include all types of dosage forms: tablets and capsules; creams and ointments; inhalers and patches; and IV admixtures for adminstering antibiotics, total parenteral nutrition and chemotherapy.
Pharmacists are involved in every aspect of the medication use process at RMH including:
- Procuring medication inventory;
- Evaluating each medication order for appropriateness;
- Providing drug dosing protocols and guidelines;
- Monitoring for adverse drug reactions;
- Providing drug information to patients and staff.
The RMH Inpatient Pharmacy utilizes state-of-the-art technology, including a McKesson Robot-RX, MedSelect dispensing systems and barcode packaging to enhance patient safety.
Outpatient Pharmacy
The RMH Outpatient Pharmacy fills prescription medications for patients who have been discharged, RMH Home Health patients, patients of the RMH Regional Cancer Center, Emergency Department patients and hospital staff. Located on the second floor of the RMH West Tower, the non-profit retail pharmacy is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for your convenience. In addition to providing prescription medications, the Outpatient Pharmacy also has a selection of over-the-counter medications.
For patients and employees alike, the Outpatient Pharmacy offers the convenience of having your prescriptions filled onsite before you leave the facility. Patients or family members may stop by the Pharmacy to drop off prescriptions or pick up medications prior to discharge. Because of the Pharmacy’s non-profit status, subsequent refills for discharged patients' prescription medications must be obtained from another pharmacy.
Payment for prescriptions, including all co-pays, is expected at the time of service. The Outpatient Pharmacy accepts cash, checks, Visa and Mastercard. Contact Information: (540) 564-5551 |
