Each year, the RMH Inpatient Pharmacy dispenses more than three million doses of medications to hospitalized patients. These medications include all types of dosage forms: tablets and capsules; creams and ointments; inhalers and patches; and IV admixtures for adminstering antibiotics, total parenteral nutrition and chemotherapy.

	Procuring medication inventory;
	Evaluating each medication order for appropriateness;
	Providing drug dosing protocols and guidelines;
	Monitoring for adverse drug reactions;
	Providing drug information to patients and staff.

The RMH Inpatient Pharmacy utilizes state-of-the-art technology, including a McKesson Robot-RX, MedSelect dispensing systems and barcode packaging to enhance patient safety.
