Emergency Care

Learn about the signals of a
heart attack and what to do.

The RMH Emergency Department plays a significant role in the provision of heart services in our community. Nationally, we know that over half of all  heart attack deaths in the U.S. occur outside the hospital. BUT, did you know that most of those deaths could have been prevented if the signals of a heart attack were recognized and immediate emergency care was initiated?

Signals of a possible heart attack include:

  • chest pain, discomfort, tightness or pressure
  • arm, shoulder, neck or jaw pain
  • sudden onset of shortness of breath
  • sudden light headedness, fainting, sweating or nausea
  • sense of impending doom

If you are experiencing any of these signs...

TAKE ACTION NOW!

Don't deny.

Don't delay.

Dial 911.
