Ways to Give
Rockingham Memorial Hospital receives donations from a variety of donors - grateful patients, employees, community members, businesses, civic groups and foundations. Some give in honor of their favorite physician or nurse. Some give in memory of a loved one. And some give to improve and save the lives of our family, friends and neighbors who come here for care. Whatever your reason is for giving, 100% of every gift goes to its intended purpose and makes a meaningful difference in the care our patients receive.
Your gift can be designated to a specific purpose, or help meet our greatest needs throughout the hospital. You may also receive significant tax advantages through your gift.
Click through the links to the left to learn more about different ways to give, or some of the more common giving options have been listed below.
Cash and/or Pledge
Checks should be made payable to Rockingham Memorial Hospital and sent to:
2010 Health Campus Drive
Harrisonburg, VA 22801
You can also make a gift with your credit card online or by phone – just call (540) 564-7222 to speak with Sandy Tusing. Also, if you’d like to spread your gift over several years, the Foundation office can send you a pledge form. Just contact us to let us know.
Gifts of Stock
Appreciated stock is an ideal gift option, making it possible for you potentially to deduct the fair market value of the gift and avoid capital gains tax on appreciation.
Gifts of Real Estate
Land or other real estate property can be a wonderful way to fund a gift. The gift amount depends on the certified appraised value of the property.
Life Income Gifts
Life income gifts provide a unique way for you to help RMH financially and also provide tax savings and/or income for yourself and loved ones. Such gifts allow you to support RMH programs while transferring substantial assets to beneficiaries with the potential to significantly reduce your gift and estate taxes. Learn more>

Through a simple change in your will (a codicil), you can designate a bequest to a specific RMH program or for the hospital to use where needed most. Learn more>
A gift annuity pays a guaranteed income for the remainder of the donor’s life, or for the life of the donor and spouse. The amount paid to the donor depends on the age of the donor, and some of the income is tax-free. The donor also receives a charitable tax deduction. It is an ideal gift for someone who has CDs or other investments paying a low return. Learn more>
