Kim Stanchfield, RN, Employee Health nurse specialist, has been awarded the 2008 Joyce Safian Scholarship Award for exemplary leadership in the employee health field from the Association of Occupational Health Professionals in Healthcare (AOHP).
Stanchfield received the award in September at the national conference of the AOHP in Denver, Colo. Stanchfield has been an RMH nurse since 1975.
“We are grateful for Kim’s continued outstanding leadership in employee health,” said Chris Porto, director, Human Resource Development. “Her energy and dedication have enriched the organization in providing health services to employees. It is gratifying to see her honored for her hard work and achievement.”
Stanchfield has been a member of AOHP since 1987, the year she became employee health nurse. She has served on the national AOHP board as the organization’s journal editor since 2000.
The award, named for the nurse who founded the AOHP, included a $500 scholarship to be used for educational purposes.
“I’m so proud that RMH Employee Health was recognized nationally for the employee health services we provide our employees; it’s very humbling,” said Stanchfield. “The award is meaningful for the entire hospital because without RMH’s support and without our strong leadership team, we couldn’t accomplish much. I also want to thank our Employee Health Assistant, Linda Scott, for the tremendous support she provides to our program.”
