The five members of the RMH School of Medical Technology class of 2008 celebrated the end of their one-year clinical program of classroom and laboratory studies at a June 4 graduation ceremony.
Family members and friends joined the graduates for a noon luncheon in the RMH Outpatient Center, where the graduates also received their diplomas. Graduates were Kimberly Bright , Earlene Constantino, Steffan Jarrels, Lori Moorhouse and Benjamin Ridgway. Jarrels and Bright are employed at RMH; the others will be employed at other facilities.
The RMH School of Medical Technology, established in 1968, trains students in medical laboratory science in the areas of chemistry, microbiology, hematology and blood banking. Most students who enter the RMH program have earned a bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry or health sciences. As an option, students may choose to complete the medical technology program as their senior year of college.
At the conclusion of their clinical year at RMH, students take a national certification examination to become certified medical technologists.
