, has been awarded the fifth annual RMH Golden Stethoscope Award.
The award recognizes an outstanding physician on the RMH Medical Staff who demonstrates excellence in patient care, customer service, communication and teamwork.
“Dr. Turner demonstrates every day that professionalism and personalized care are a winning combination,” said Dr. Harold Jenkins, chief of staff for the RMH Medical Staff.
RMH President Jim Krauss and Dr. Jenkins presented Dr. Turner the Golden Stethoscope Award on April 12.
“I’m humbled to be used by the Lord to care for the patients in our community,” Dr. Turner said. “I have the privilege of working with a great group of professionals every day in our department and throughout our hospital. Thank you for this award."
All RMH employees and RMH Medical Staff can nominate physicians for the award. This year, 28 different physicians were nominated for the Golden Stethoscope.
Dr. Turner, who is with Harrisonburg Emergency Physicians, joined the RMH Medical Staff in 2010. He attended medical school at East Tennessee University. He completed both his internship and residency at the University of Louisville and is board certified in emergency medicine.
