The RMH Marketing and Communications department has won seven awards in the annual Measure of Excellence competition sponsored by the Virginia Society for Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations.
VSHMPR sponsors the annual MOE awards competition to recognize and celebrate excellence in healthcare marketing, communications and public relations. Judging is conducted by a peer society from another state. For 2008, the judges were from the Mississippi Hospital Association’s Society for Marketing and Public Relations.
Each entry is judged on its own merit and is evaluated on the basis of 1) response to problem or need, 2) effectiveness of reaching target audience, 3) quality and appropriateness of materials, 4) effectiveness in achieving its goal(s), and 5) overall impression of the project. Superior and meritorious awards are given, based on total point value, in a variety of categories.
The 2008 competition had 43 entries representing 14 healthcare organizations. A total of 15 superior and 12 meritorious awards were presented. RMH received three superior and four meritorious awards.
“The Marketing and Communications department has set a standard for excellence in marketing and communications materials that should be a source of pride for our organization,” said Kay Harrison, vice president, Business Development.
