RMH invites the community to participate in the following events to raise awareness about heart health during American Heart Month in February:
National Wear Red Day: The community is asked to wear red on Feb. 1 and show support for women everywhere who are fighting heart disease.
Walk the Walk – For Heart Health: RMH will host this free walk from 9-11 a.m. on Feb. 14. Walkers will receive a free red fleece scarf (supplies limited). Participants will walk the one-mile outdoor track that circles the RMH campus. Walkers may pick up their scarf at the Heart and Vascular Center lobby. No registration is required.
Red Out JMU Girls’ Basketball Game: JMU and RMH will go red at this special game Feb. 21. The RMH Heart and Vascular Center will be onsite to provide free blood pressure screenings and heart education.
Alpha Phi’s Annual “Move Your Phi’t” 5K: The Alpha Phi Sorority from JMU is hosting its annual Move Your Phi't 5K Walk/Run at 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 23rd at the JMU Festival Lawn. Register before Feb. 16 to receive a free T-shirt. Last year, Alpha Phi raised more than $15,000 to benefit the Heart and Vascular Center. Registration is available at:
