Panera Bread recently presented a check for $3,700 to the RMH Foundation to directly support the breast cancer program at the RMH Women's Center.
Panera’s gift culminates a month-long effort in October to commemorate National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The gift comes from the proceeds of sales of “pink ribbon” bagels and pink awareness rings sold at Panera throughout October.
“We are grateful for Panera’s partnership in raising awareness for breast cancer and providing resources for the women of our community,” said Cory Davies, development officer, RMH Foundation. “Through their generosity, Panera is making a very real difference in the lives of our family, friends and neighbors right here in our community who are battling this disease.”
Other recent donations to the RMH Women’s Health fund have helped provide books for new breast cancer patients to help them cope and recover, as well as a $21,000 mammography reading station that helps physicians diagnose breast cancer. Panera’s gift will be used to help meet similar needs.
