Merv Webb, vice president, RMH Foundation, has been elected to a one-year term as secretary/treasurer of the international Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP). Webb was elected in October, after being recognized earlier this year by the Mid-Atlantic AHP as “Fundraiser of the Year.” He is a certified Fellow with AHP, which is the organization’s highest level of professional certification.
He has served AHP in numerous capacities, including regional director, member of the AHP international board and the AHP Foundation Board, chair of the AHP committee that annually selects the leading professionals in the healthcare fundraising profession, regional membership chair, and regional conference co-chair He also has chaired the committee that produces the AHP Journal, the organization’s quarterly publication. “AHP is truly an organization that advances healthcare philanthropy,” Webb said. “I’m privileged to give back something to this organization that has meant so much to me.” The Association for Healthcare Philanthropy is a not-for-profit international professional organization dedicated to developing those who encourage charity in North American healthcare organizations. Established in 1967, the AHP supports education, networking, information and research in healthcare philanthropy. Its 4,700 members represent more than 2,200 healthcare facilities in the United States and Canada. The organization’s international headquarters are located in Falls Church, Va.
