Morrison Healthcare Food Services has selected the RMH Food and Nutrition Services department as its “Be a Star Account of the Year” in the mid-Atlantic region.
In late 2009, RMH selected Morrison Healthcare Food Services to manage its Food and Nutrition Services department. Morrison Healthcare Food Services is the nation’s only food service company exclusively dedicated to providing food, nutrition and dining services to the healthcare community.
Morrison selected RMH Food and Nutrition Services from a pool of 75 hospitals in its region. The Morrison “Be a Star Account of the Year” winners are selected by Morrison’s regional directors of operations, who together determine which account has had the greatest impact that year in each region, said Patrick Simmons, director of RMH Food and Nutrition Services.
The directors look at patient satisfaction, retail satisfaction, client satisfaction, financial performance, and other details, such as passing review by The Joint Commission and being involved in community projects, Simmons explained.
“This is a huge accomplishment, and we are very proud of the service our staff provides our patients, visitors and co-workers,” he said.
He noted that 13 winners are chosen across the United States each year.
“By taking the best possible care of their patients, residents and staff members, our Account of the Year winners truly live ‘the Morrison Way’ every day,” said Alla Umanskiy, communications manager for Morrison. “As we strive toward greatness, we rely on these winning associates to continually raise the bar of service excellence by putting people first. Thank you for helping us believe that greatness is achievable.”
Morrison Healthcare Food Services is based in Atlanta and serves about 460 acute care clients in 41 states, including some of the largest and most prominent integrated healthcare systems in the United States. In Virginia, the company’s clients include the University of Virginia Health System, Inova Health System and Sentara.
