The Healthy Community Council of the Harrisonburg-Rockingham United Way has scheduled a summit for Tuesday, Sept. 13, 8-11 a.m. at the Detwiler Auditorium of Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community in Harrisonburg.
At the summit, Dr. Kristi Lewis, Healthy Community Council chair, and Richard Baugh, summit facilitator, will unveil the Healthy Community Assessment 2011 Report. The report is based on a comprehensive needs assessment of Harrisonburg and Rockingham residents conducted in 2010 by the Health Community Council.
Citizens, civic groups, agencies and institutions in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County are welcome to attend, and to have a voice in building a vibrant community.
The Healthy Community Council brings together key community organizations and leaders to determine and implement strategies for improving the quality of life in the community.
