Hand-in-Hand Resource Mothers ProgramThe mission of Hand-in-Hand Resource Mothers Program is to ensure the best possible outcomes for pregnant teens, teen mothers and their babies.
The purpose of Hand-in-Hand is to reach the pregnant and parenting teens in our community and connect them with a variety of services that will ensure a healthy pregnancy, healthy baby and mother, and attainment of educational goals giving them opportunities for life long success.
The Resource Mother will help the pregnant teen and teen mother:
- Keep medical appointments
- Develop plans for the baby's care
- Stay in school or continue working
- Delay repeat pregnancies until adulthood
- Solve day-to-day problems of being a new parent
- Take steps toward a solid future

The Hand-in-Hand Resource Mothers Program is funded by the Virginia Department of Health, Division of Women’s and Infants’ Health and is a partner agency with the Harrisonburg Rockingham United Way.
Hand-in-Hand Resource Mothers Teen Pregnancy Support Group
Are you a pregnant teenager or did you just become a teen mother? Join us for our monthly support group meetings especially for pregnant teens and teen mothers. Bring your baby and enjoy meeting new people who are facing the same challenges you may be. The group offers support, education and answers to your questions. Dads are welcome too!
When: Fourth Monday of each month (except July and December)
Where: RMH Atrium, 2000 Beery Road, Harrisonburg
Time: 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Cost: FREE
