Breastfeeding Consultants
Breastfeeding can be one of the most rewarding, economical and healthy decisions you will ever make. Not only is breastmilk the best food for your baby, but you and your baby will also enjoy being close to each other.
RMH is privileged to have two international board certified breastfeeding consultants on staff. A lactation consultant is at the hospital during the morning hours, seven days a week, making rounds on the Family Birthplace. During those hours, the lactation consultant is also available at your request in the Boutique.
The lactation consultants teach breastfeeding classes and also have an on-call line they check every few hours from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. daily. They are available for outpatient consultations to trouble-shoot problems that may develop.
