Judith Trumbo, RMH transition planning director, has been selected to chair the committee responsible for choosing the 2008 Daily News-Record Leadership Award recipients.
Each year, the $10,000 Leadership Awards are given to one senior each from Broadway, Spotswood, Turner Ashby and Harrisonburg high schools.
“It's obviously an honor and a privilege to work with a committee of respected community leaders,” Trumbo said. “There is nothing more that parents and adults want to see than a child use his or her God-given gifts to make a difference in the world, and we see that in these young people.”
Trumbo, a Broadway resident, served as director of home and community health at RMH for 20 years. In 2008, she was appointed transition planning director for the hospital, which is preparing to move to its new health and hospital campus in 2010.
She serves on the boards of the United Way and the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Chamber of Commerce. She chairs the Generations Crossing Board, which recently broke ground for its new intergenerational care center. Trumbo also serves as an associate trustee for Eastern Mennonite University.
