Facing Forward: Life After Cancer Treatment Survivorship Program
Congratulations! Your cancer treatment is over! So, now what?
Following your treatments, you may find yourself struggling with how to define “normal” in your life. You may still be dealing with the side effects of treatment; or perhaps you’re burdened by concerns about the future.
We understand that this is an anxious time and want to do all we can to help. The Sentara RMH Hahn Cancer Center is offering a free program, “Facing Forward,” developed by the National Cancer Institute. The survivorship program helps persons transition back to life as a cancer survivor and provides education.
Topics for the program include:
- Managing symptoms and side-effects
- Wellness care plan
- Healthy nutrition
- Stress management
- Mind-body connection
The sessions will be offered on the second Wednesday of each month from 9-11AM at the Sentara RMH Hahn Cancer Center Building.
Our team encourages you to begin Facing Forward as soon as your last treatment is over. Caregivers are also welcome!
To register, call Elaine Dunaway at 689-7065, EKDUNAWA@SENTARA.COM
