You guys, today I did something I never do.
I did my workout in the morning.
I'm not really a morning person. I don't really like people until about 10am, as a rule. So, the idea of going to the gym (where there are perky morning workout-ers) without make-up, without breakfast, without a shower...well, it all just seems absurd to me.
But the RMH Wellness Center is offering a new class that I really wanted to try. At 7:30am on Monday mornings for the next six weeks, you can join me for Tabata Kettlebell.
Here's the description:
Tabata Kettlebell: This class offers a unique twist on interval training to give you a fast-acting total body conditioning experience. The Tabata protocol is touted as one of the most effective workouts for increased fat loss, and enhanced athletic performance to physiologically transform your body. Utilizing kettlebells and your own body weight, you will complete several rounds of 20 second bouts of high intensity training followed by 10 seconds of rest in this challenging class to give you quick results in a short amount of time. Classes held once a week for 6 weeks.
If you're like me, you probably zeroed right in on the whole "20-second bouts of...training" thing. That doesn't sound hard, does it? Yeah, don' be fooled. This morning's class was insane. Like, I'm-already-tired-and-sweating-and-it's-just-the-warm-up, insane. High cardio, intense weights, lots of sweat. A really, great workout.
